On December 16, 2008, the D-Term Mental Health Group visited the Arc of the Capital Area, an organization that helps adults and children with developmental problems by providing many services to them that they originally would be unable to pay for. The Arc is a non-profit organization that funds itself by selling artwork that these people have made. While we were unable to interact with anyone who had a disability, we spent the day organizing their stock of calendars, notepads, notecards, and mugs, and also helping them send letters to other stores and organizations that donate. The work that we did in two and a half hours would have taken them at least the better part of a day to do.
My personal favorite, "The Painted Bunting".
All the work we did there saved the Arc much of their valuble time.
These calendars and bags, along with much more, is on sale at the Arc.
